Never really heard if pickles are good for you liver or not. The only thing I remember hearing about pickles is if you drink the pickle juice it helps you lose weight. Not sure how true that is, it might be an old wise tale. ~shrugs~

http://www.hepc-connection.org/newsl..._02/diet.shtml

"Keep your salt levels below 2,000 milligrams a day. This means not shaking salt onto your food, and reading food labels carefully to determine sodium content. Limiting sodium is helpful because your body may hold onto extra fluid, and make you feel bloated. If fluid is held in the belly, the condition is called ascites; it is called edema if it is held in the legs. To cut down on salt, eat more fresh foods, most of which are naturally low in sodium, and fewer canned, processed, and prepared foods, such as TV dinners, chips, and fast food. Other salty foods include bacon, sausage, cold cuts, cheeses, Chinese food, and pickles."

Thats the info I found.

I don't like pickles. They taste gross.

Claussen pickles are the best not sour or bitter like Vlassic or other cheap brands.

Never heard about pickles being bad...but then again, like the legendary Paraselcus* said:

"Moderation is the key." I'm sure if you ate enough of anything you could get sick from it, not just a tummy ache but other underlying things such as liver, kidney, bowel problems among other things.

Paraselcus is the 'father' of toxicology, where he explained that medicines in the recommended doses was best, but an overdose could lead to sickness or death.

Example: Take an aspirin for a headache. Take more than one at one time or more than four, six times a day [as the bottle says] could be dangerous.

THOUGH....I have heard if you eat mass quantities of foods over a long period of time that you could actually become the pigment of the foods you eat; pickles day and night for a long period of time, your skin tone turns a little green.

I would have thought pickles would be bad for your health seeing 90% of them have Acetic Acid (vinegar) in the jar.

Which can cause stomach ulcer and other internal conditions if you eat a lot of pickles....
