Well, I am in our schools speech and debate club.
I would absolutely love it if some one
could give me some advice on the topic or even just
their ideas. Also even more help would be if someone
could help me organize my information and maybe
do a small debate with me. I do the Lincon - Douglas
Debates. This months competition topic is:

Resolved: A just government should provide health care to the citizens.

If you are just giving me your ideas tell me
whether you agree or not and why.

A smart government would want healthy citizens, right? I don't know if it has anything to do with being just, but if a lot of people weren't able to afford healthcare, just like that- a lot more people sick, dying, our nation is weak. I guess you can also say that it would be unfair to only allow those rich enough to have the....in this case "privilege".... of health. Isn't it in the constitution or something that everyone has the god-given right of LIFE happiness and the pursuit of freedom? I heard that somewhere.....

You could take a look at topics in the Debate Forum here to get some information and some ideas (just make sure you verify "facts" because not all people who post in Debate are reliable).

It might also be worthwhile to post your topics there for members here to debate.

Hey! I'm taking Speech and Debate too :P

Anyways, we debated about this last week. Think about how it is needed, yet some people can cheat the system and get the health care programs when they really don't need them, therefore preventing other people from being able to get it.
