How can I find out why I was banned?

I was unexpectedly banned....I was making idle conversation and comments in chat that was neither calculated to be offensive nor to which anyone seemed to take offense...yet suddenly I was banned. It seems to me an explanation is in order. I was chatting under the name "Catt"

Luka, you know for yourself that the shortest ban is an hour....which is precisely the time I was banned.....I was talking with wildskye in an attempt to find out why I had been (not was) banned, if only for an hour......as it happened, when I was banned you and startfire were talking, or rather bickering, and one or the two of you commented "no kids" (or no SOMETHING, I forget) and this was followed by "no catts", which I questioned. Coments were made about not liking kids, and I made a joking comment about this, and was immediately banned for an hour. It was this, Luka, that I was discussing with wildskye AFTER my hourlong ban ended....and when wildskye suggested I ask you about it, I asked in main if I could talk privately with you, and you left. Personally, I find the entire episode rather offputting, that by merely being there I am somehow offensive to a moderator, and that a legitimate concern is so easily brushed off.

Bans last for 24 hours, not an hour.
So I highly doubt you were banned.
And it was ziggy that was talking with Starfire about kids, not I.
Or it was some other chatter. :S

I beg to differ, philly......it clearly states on the FAQ sheet on the chat ave home page that the shortest ban is an hour, and when I was booted and tried to re-enter the message said I was banned from chat avenue. I am only relating what I experienced and what I read.

If I do something offensive, and am banned, I want to know what I did, to avoid doing so again....if it was done in error, I can understand...but if moderators are banning people on a whim, that can be a serious problem for the room as a whole, especially if comments were made by the mod or their friends that made the chatter feel unwelcome

Im not really sure on exact times of bans but
from what ive seen some bans can go from one hour or longer.
depends on what you've done.
Your best bet is to pm Phillystorm.
hes the only one that can give you exact info on gay chat.
And it seems your unbanned so problem solved
