Can gay people tell if another person is gay or not?

I'm just curious, but is that rumor true? That most gay people can tell if another person is truely has homosexual tendincies? I mean everyone stereotypes homosexuals as either men=feminine women=masculin.

But I really don't think, those two stereotypes are true because I know plenty of gay people who you could never tell were gay according to those sterotypes. So I was just wondering if gay people can get a sense if someone else is gay or not.

Actually, it is true. I can tell whether a straight man has tendencies just by the way he acts around me and or the way he looks at me or others around him. The easiest way to tell is the way he talks in some conversations. I have had soo many of my friends come out to everyone because of me. I helped the "straight" friends of mine find out who they really are and are now in the best relationships of their lives with the same se.x. Not sure if everyone has had this happen to them, but I myself used to be straight and until a friend helped me to come out and helped me to see the light, I was denying who I was the whole time.

Well, if it is true tht gay people can tell if a person is gay or not, my so called *gaydar* is in need of repair, and has been for yrs, those I think are gay are not, and those I think are not are, truth is, the one I know to be gay, is my reflection in the mirror

I don't look "gay." But I sound very, very "gay" so the second I open my mouth, it is known that I'm gay.

Some might fit into the stereotype while others don't, and you cannot always tell. Actually, you cannot always tell if someone is gay even if they sound gay...I know two different married guys (that I'm pretty sure are NOT bi, can't say for sure), but sound feminine/gay, and are straight.

I'm not gay but I can normally tell if someone else is gay on meeting them. Maybe some gays are either a little more camp than others (males), or more butch (female).
