Are Bisexuals More "Masculine" Than Gay Men?: Prejudice Against Gay Men ?
*Please take the time to read, and reply in fairness*
I've noticed that many bisexuals, consider themselves to be more masculine (using the stereotypical Western archetype of what masculinity should be i.e. low voice, machoness, sports, jock, etc.) than gay men either due to their bisexuality that allows them to be sexually attracted to women as well or because their partial heterosexuality makes them more of a "man" than gay men.
We've discussed the prejudice against bisexuals from gay men.
It's now time to discuss prejudice against gay men from bisexuals.
From what I've observed, the common prejudices against gay men from bisexuals are similar to that off homophobic straight men:
1) Gay men are tools used for sexual gratification. A common phrase used by prejudiced bisexual men is "women are for love, men are animal ***". This suggests that gay men are perceived as little better than *****s for prejudiced bisexual men to release sexual desires.
2) Gay men are not meant for relationships. As from above, prejudiced bisexual men perceive gay men as means to release sexual desires much like a toy. Many prejudiced bisexual men have stated that they would never get into a relationship with man because being with a woman is "normal", "easier" or "right".
3) Gay men are inferior to both bisexual men and women. Prejudiced bisexuals perceive gay men as inferior and regularly make fun of gay culture. Their perceived partial heterosexuality allows them to stand apart and in societal-norm stand above gay men as they are at least "half-normal" rather gay men. Prejudiced bisexuals rarely involve themselves with gay community and only make contact with the gay community for a hook-up. They display a duplicity or dual life similar to closet gay men; they keep their "heterosexual" selves out in the open and in the light but choose to keep their "homosexual" selves a secret and in the dark. Many prejudiced bisexuals first and foremost choose to identify themselves as straight rather than bisexual in order to avoid the prejudice against homosexuals. Gay men are also perceived as inferior to themselves as prejudiced bisexuals. They consider themselves more "masculine" than the "femmy" or "queeny" gay men since they have heterosexual attractions. Being "half-straight" entitles them the belief that they are above gay men, and they are only meant to be used for sexual gratification. They stand both apart and above. They are not truly "fags" since they live a "normal" heterosexual lifestyle. Prejudiced bisexuals also perceive gay men as inferior to women. Women are can provide everything a gay man can and cannot. Women are treated (more or less) with respect and dignity, while gay men are merely treated as impersonal **********s. Women can be loved and cared for. Gay men are just meant to be ****ed and left alone when they are done with them. Women are treated as partners while gay men are treated as impersonal strangers. Women are openly professed love while gay men are secretly professed slight affection. Many of these common prejudices displayed by prejudiced bisexual men are portent to the perceived inferiority of gay men and superiority of bisexual/straight men or women.
4) Affliation but lack of involvement. Prejudiced Bisexual men (also in part to proactive or reactive prejudice from gay men towards bisexuals) rarely involve themselves in the gay community or culture except for sexual gratification. Prejudiced bisexual men also do not affliate themselves with gay men at all. They keep themselves apart. Rather than "stradding the fence" they keep their entire bodies within the "heterosexual" lifestyle but make sure to discreetly keep a pinky or toe in the "homosexual" lifestyle to sate their sexual needs or curiousity. Prejudiced bisexual men first and foremost identify themselves as heterosexuals as a reactive/proactive response from homophobia. Lack of involvement or interest in gay rights is another issue. Many prejudiced bisexuals simply don't care whether or not gay marriage is legalized/outlawed or whether or not gay people can adopt. This is due to the superiority complex that many prejudiced bisexuals display. Who cares about gay marriage or adoption or gay rights at all when they can just as easily marry a woman, have children with a woman or have the rights and privalege any heterosexual man has.
REMEMBER:
This is NOT a blanket analysis of ALL bisexual men but rather PREJUDICED bisexual men. If you don't have any of these prejudices, than congrats, you're not a bigoted bisexual.
This is solely for the analysis and discussion of prejudices displayed or held by prejudiced bisexual men towards gay men. As we've had numerous threads of prejudices displayed or held by gay men towards bisexuals, we now have a thread discussing prejudices against gay men by bisexuals.

Uhmm I dunno...My brother says he's bi but I don't think he acts overly macho considering he wears Make-Up and he used to wear girl jeans. I wouldn't have thought a bi sexual person would have any superior thoughts of themself considering they like the same s3x too.

a gay mans view
I am gay, i have also served over 8 years in army infantry including two tours vietnam. I have seen many very masculane gay men. Stereotypes are never truely worth considering even though sometimes it seems people live by them.

Well being a gay man myself, I know a few bi-sexual men who are a lot less masculine that I am. I have met men in gay clubs and bars who, upon first meeting them, you would think that they are 100% gay. But as you get to talk to them, they mention "girlfriends". That's where I kinda go "I could have sworn you were..." And they say, "What? Gay?" usually followed by a laugh. I've even had it said to me on a few occasions that the men I was talking to prefer women more than they do men. Just one of those things that "make ya go hhhhmmmm."

does it matter?
sorry to sound so ...... unconcerned with this...but......
everyone will eventually gravitate to the people they feel most comfortable with.
Isnt that whats important?

Stop it.!

One word for these types of men: Arseheads!
As I have tried to get to know two of these types of men this month. I used to try and look for bi-sexual guys when I was looking. Now I try and stay away from them. Reason being The above quote and more (whats the word I'm looking for)....."choices of them going out with someone else"? I can't think of the word....
Anyway, yeah. >_>
