Most Embarrassing Gay Moment?

This might get a bit controversial, so if a forum mod or UM sees fit to close it, I'll understand.

Anyhow, thinking back, what is your most embarrassing gay moment? Maybe it happened on a date? Or maybe in a club? Do tell!!

Mine was when I was 15. I guess I thought it was cool back then, and a way of kinda coming out as gay to my classmates at school. But gawd did I catch hell for it afterwards.

I had a few gay friends when I was in middle school. The spring talent contest was coming up, and we decided that we all wanted to "come out" together. So, we devised a way to do so...publicly.

We auditioned in front of the director of music at the time, Mr. Krelove. We would do Alphaville's "Big in Japan". It was a hit song back then (1985). Mr. Krelove said fine to us being in the show, but wanted us dressed in shirts and ties. WELL! At the last minute we decided to remove those shirts and ties. So now, here we were, dressed in dress slacks and no shirts singing this song as an angry Mr. Krelove looked on from the wings, and the jazz band did their best to play the music as it was supposed to be played. And believe it or not, our classmates liked us? (No accounting for taste I know! )

But, after the show, the next day we were just "f@gs" and nothing more. But at least our friends and classmates knew. Embarrassed as we were after the fact. (And yes, it was video taped!!) They even played that tape at a school dance in 1988 (our last before graduating from high school). My BF and I at the time were like "OMFG! Did they really play that?!"

And yes, it was played at my senior prom, and at my 5-year high school reunion... AND my 10th. Question is, will it be played at my 20th? (set for 2008)

Yeah Holly, that song is very special to me. It was a symbol of freedom...not lying to myself or my friends about who I was.

Sweetheart even if I had it there is NO WAY I'd post it. But I don't have it. Last I heard the person in charge of the committee for the reunion set-up has it. UGH she as this stuck up snob back in HS. Hated me, hated my friends. But she loves saying "AND now, remember back in 1985? Heres Jamie, Tyler and Jacob in a one-time appearance." She did it at the 10-year reunion. Nothing like seeing that vid on 5 TV sets in a catering hall. LOL I love the Pic!!
