age limits and the word younger in name

hey all...

i was in gay chat and asked why has the minumin age for the room been increased as most countries on the planet is 16... i also mentioned that it maybe American based rules.
I was asked by who seems to be a new admin to take the word younger out of my name, Because of the lag i didnt have time to change it and was banned. my mane in the room, is 41 m portsmouth 4 younger. i was happy to remove the word younger but wasnt given time. I feel unjustly treated by this , and i never ever ask for under uk legal age as i am from the uk... pls respond... many thx

And leaving this thread open so the admin for GC can explain the reason for the change in age, then maybe it will sink in finally.

The age limit was increased from 16 to 18 due to the fact that the room was an unsafe environment. The room was being used as a predator haven to pick up younger users. I was originally against this age increase, but now I stand behind it 100% due to the fact I read some information on the web about chatrooms that would make you shudder. The age limit will be enforced by the Moderators of Gay Chat. The rule is now if a Mod sees an underage user he/she will direct that user to another room. If the user doesn't do so or has a wise crack response, they get kicked from the room. And they can't say "Oh I didn't know about the age limit" This may seem harsh, but we need to keep the room safe. Yes, there is a disclaimer on the chat sign in screen. I PMed Chatmaster RE: this disclaimer, asking if maybe he could increase the font size and change the color of the font to make it more obvious that we do have an age limit.

Now, as for your ban, I will remove said ban. I will talk to the Mod in question.

I hope that this clears things up a bit about the age change.

Thx for all your swift replies... I can understand the reasons for upping the age limits, and i guess will stand by them... i would give you my ip, but i dont know how to get to it....lol... but thx anyway..

I have to say the mods in that room were pretty much told to warn the under age user then ban them. Not kick them out but ban. Sometimes I couldn't even warn or talk to a user because poof they were already banned. Problem with trying to ban so many users at such a fast pace is you get used to clicking ban IP so I think a few times while I was in there a user may have been accidently banned. Acck.
Of course this doesn't have to do with this case but, yeah the mods in there auto ban bad.
