Gay Insults -- How Do You Deal w/Them?
For me personally, it is only from certain family members and friends that I have told, and they do sting, even if small in nature. I always tell people, I hate that phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me". It's a bunch of bullsh**, it's not true, words do hurt, and the opposite of that saying is true, IMHO. I do believe some do dwell on things more than they should, and I know I personally should learn to just shrug certain things off more, but...
It's a 3 part question, if you don't mind
Gay Insults:
a) how do you deal w/them from family members
b) friends/acquaintances
c) strangers

a) I cut my arms when my dad called me an inferior little poof. That is past tense, btw. My dad is dead now, and my mum hasn't ever said anything about it.
b) I can tell when they're joking because I just can. And I just retort back with a smartass comeback.
Different with net-friends though. But I have to laugh at times when they say ''queer'' or ''h omo'' and then say ''OMG I MEAN NO OFFENCE!''
c) I tell them to suck my fat one.

well my family were gr8 and many of my friends wer ok, except for one we had been friends at school but he decided it would be gr8 to paint our garden wall with the words "TOBY IS A FKIN Q UEER" in red paint, so instead of sitting down and ignoring him i deCided to do a bit of art work myself, i went around to his house and put a poster on his front gate which was a picture of what he had painted on our garden wall with a quote in big pink letters which said
" I AM GAY THE WHOLE STREET KNOWS IM GAY BUT WHAT THEY DONT KNOW IS THAT YOU WER THE ONE THAT USED TO-ASK ME FOR A W--K IN THE SCHOOL TOILETS "also was a pic of him in the school play wearin a dress ,so thats how i delt with the 1 and only problem i ever had.
love tobes xx

I used to care, I no longer do..
I dont believe that I have to have an Issue with myself at all.
If there is a problem with my sexuality, Its a matter for others to deal with, cos I have figured that in recent times its whats challenging them in their head that is the problem, and can I help that..NO!
If you are GAY/Lesbian/Bisexual I suggest to you guys just be honest with peeps around you, they will support you whence they realise that you are the same old dependable guy/girl, its that simple.. It really is..

I don't care either, I think.
But if I'm asked, I'd say it.
But I'm not camp so I'm never asked.

I think it all depends on the situation. Like, if its a group of nazi, skin-headed haters, more than likely I'll take the nearest exit, stage left. BUT! If its a single person with some stupid-ass remark, my favorite response back is: "Keep pretending you're straight, babes." Of course, I say that in the gayest, and most feminine way possible, making sure all around me see and hear me.
But in all seriousness, if you are confronted by a group of haters, and its you alone, just leave. Say you're straight, tell them they are mistaken, do what you need to do to protect yourself. Because trust me, if they think you are gay, and they think they can get away with it, they will put you in the hospital, if not worse. Don't be a martyr! Look at Matthew Shephard! I have been there. But if its just 1 dude, feck with his head a little. I even said to one on a subway, "God! Donald! You don't have to say that here! So we had one little tiff? So what? We can work it out. Come on. Give us a little kiss and let's make up, shall we?"

First of all Mark, I don't DO straight bars. But, if I were to play out your little scenario, I'd admit it. No law says I can't go into a straight bar. What's the worst that can happen? Threats? The fear of imprisonment is enough to deter MOST from doing a physical attack. Because that is exactly what would happen if they so much as breathed on me wrong. The guy who attacked me several years ago is STILL in jail. Why? because I go to every parole hearing he has. he can stay there for as long as need be.
