What's the status on gay marriage ages?
I'm pissed off because Google is letting me down; by telling me things I already know.
I know it is 16 in UK.. and 18 in USA, but what if someone is 16 and is engaged to an 18yo? Is that allowed in UK and America? Only one? Neither?
I am aware that 18yo's can only date 18+ gays in USA.... but in UK it's 16.
So what is it if it's a marriage in USA?
Halp.

EDIT: And do you agree it should be lowered/changed and whatnot?
EDIT2: What does this mean?

The age of consent is eighteen. With parental consent, parties can marry at age sixteen and younger parties may receive a license by reason of special circumstances. Common law marriage is recognized.

That was said about one of the states in USA. And I don't understand it.

This wont be moved to test Luka....
In Australia One is Classified as and adult at the age of 18..
Gay Marriage is not recognised, in Australia, but you can committ...
But both have to be 18.....

Really? I was told by an Aussie that marriage is allowed over there at 16, because that's the minimum age law of consent there.
In Victoria., anyways.

In Scotland individuals aged 16 or over will be able to register their partnership without the need for parental consent. (This is also the rule, in Scotland, for opposite-*** couples who marry).

I can't see anything on if the other person isn't British but I would assume as he is over 18 anyways that it won't impact much. Therefore it is legal for you to enter a civil partnership here in the UK.

Luka Consent to a Sexual relationship, for gay males is 16... as long as the Youngest is 16.....
As for marriage Australia does NOT Recongnise Gay Marriage..
Same-*** marriage is not recognised under Australian federal law. Under section 51(xxi) [1] of the Australian Constitution, the Parliament of Australia is vested with the powers to make laws with respect to marriage. Until 2004 the Marriage Act 1961 did not define marriage, but the common law definition of marriage as "a union between a man and a woman" was applied by Australian courts and was taken to be "settled law."

gay marriages should be recognized everywhere but the age should be at minimum of age 18.

this says legal to marry is 18. but 16 can marry with parent consent and under 16 can get a license to marry if there are special conditions which the marriage is needed that early. way to young i think

Believe it or not, in Ohio the age of consent is now 16. Where I live in Ohio, there has already been two cases of young gay couples being alienated, and more harshly punished for PDA in the local high school.
