It's a long time in coming, but there's a mandatory formal coming up in May, and I was thinking up ideas for what I'm going to wear for it.
There's a problem, though. About six months ago I moved from a mini-Stepford area to more of a small town/hickville. Usually I have no problem with this sort of thing, but it's different here. At the old place, you'd just pick out the most expensive thing you can afford in the store. Here, people don't have as much money to spend.
I'd rather not show up completely overdressed compared to the other females. The people here are bitter about who owns what, so that's a no-no if I can avoid it. On the other hand, maybe that wouldn't be so bad=P
I had the idea of something retro with gloves. There's no central theme, and I've never worn anything with long gloves before, but I thought it'd be unique. The only issue is my height, or lack of. Does that make a difference, or is this just an outdated/bad idea? I had a picture of the outfit I wanted, but I don't know what I did with it. If I find it, I'll post it.
