I had a few questions that I want to know or discuss or see ppls opinions on. I have children and Ive often considered could one day they come to me and say Im gay. Would I be accepting? MOST DEFINATELY!! Would I be surprised? If you took it on them as they are now, then yes, I would be. So my questioning is I see them now and I would say they arent gay. When do you define yourself as gay? From birth, are there signs that you are gay or does it come later in life after puberty when you have explored sexuality? And even if I personally dont think my sons are gay due to the way they are currently behaving with the opposite *** could I still expect realistically that one day they could still come to me and say they are??

If I ever have children and they come to me and say they are gay, would I be accepting? Absolutely....You are who you are. My only concern would be that they would have a tougher life. In our soceity gays are still unfairly ridiculed and discriminated against. But would I accept and love them every bit as much as if they were straight? Without a doubt.

I do believe that you are born straight or gay. Personally, I know I never sat down and said ok now I have to make a choice...Do I like boys or girls. I'm straight...It wasn't a choice I made, It's just who I am. If I didn't make a choice about my sexuality, why would I think gay people do? As far as when you show signs, obviously everyone is different. I believe in a lot of cases there are no visible signs. Otherwise, people wouldn't be able to stay in the closet into their 20's and 30's. I guess it just depends on the individual.

Being gay is a preference in a way. It's what one finds attractive or what turns you on.

All jokes aside where gays are concerned, I've always maintained that if any member of my family were gay I would accept them as they are, and that includes my daughter. Parents should love their kids no matter what, even if they believe the path that child chooses is right or wrong.

It wasnt really a question of loving or accepting. There is another thread addressing that very topic. It was more about has anyone been considered straight, from birth and then something changed in later years for them. I am probably more of the opinion that you are born gay. Documentaries and science studies of the most gay men having larger pituatry glands being the same size as a womans can back that up and such, but are there cases where its something else developed at a later time in life that leads you towards gay sexuality?? Like I said before, when I look now at my children I can say they arent gay. Their interests in the opposite ***, mannerisms etc but can that change?? If this thread is too personal feel free to delete it. And I hope its not offensive to anyone.

It is very questionable, if one is born gay or choses to be Gay..
I suppose some say we are born like this, others differ..
Looks and Mannerisms really don't mean that much , Coz I am a very Straight acting gay..
I know of a few men and women have been "Straight", all their lives and after 10 ,15 years after the have been Married, decided to live the gay Lifestyle..
It really hard to say, if one is going to be gay , or Straight or Bi..
I suppose it what one feels, inside..

Any parent would be accepting id say but i think that your arent born gay or straight. after puberty guys and girls figure out a certain type they like.
for example I like skater guys with dirty blondish hair. thats my personal interest. some guys might be only interested in girls with blonde hair and hazel eyes thats their choice. and sometimes you may realize your attracted to the same gender as your self or if you are a guy for example and you are dating girls and find yourself unhappy or unsatisfied you may realize that guys please you instead. so your sons may or may not turn gay. most likely not if their straight now but you can never really know. Gay people are just like straight people though. they have feelings and actions and are human. gay isn't wrong.
