Although a clever design which is closely related to the roatary, it would not be powerful enough to run many large appliances using only compressed air. Using it for smaller appliance's would be a good idea, such as the chainsaw featured, although I didn't see if there were any power outage statistics?
The engineers are working on a combustion one. Which would produce alot of power I bet.

problem is, will it be better than the rotary engines used in cars and aircraft? or any other small based engine....
If the quasturbine doesnt go better then rotary on combustion, than it's a waste of time researching and designing.
