Default Microsoft's new coffee table

Haven't seen much about it in the mainstream media but Microsoft have announced a "revolutionary" new technology being released later this year.
Microsoft Surface takes the form of a 30" screen embedded in a coffee table. Cameras placed around the room detect objects, devices and movements on the table allowing it to be used as a multi-touch interface which is essentially a touchscreen you can use several things on.
Machines will cost between $5,000 and $10,000 and will be marketed at bars, restaurants and other businesses later this year before being marketed in the home

I saw this at Melbourne crown casino a few weeks ago,I was talking to the dealer and there planning in the future to adapt something simular to blackjack and hold'em poker and some other games.
I don't like it when it come's to gambling purpose's. In the poker room, I like to bend my cards to check them, then leave them face down so no-one else can see.... Not covering the cards with my arms from outside onlookers....
It would look trendy in a bar for the people that wear a suit all the time

I'm surprised Mac didn't come out with it first.

iTable or iPad, and have the legs and stuff be nice and white.

No, Apple is evil. Notice the bite marks in the Apple itself.

Anyway, this looks cool. Ill get one in like, 2060 for $5 at the dump.

It runs on vista so by the time it is available to everyone, Vista will be the main OS of choice and thus it would run the same software
Theoretically anyway

I bet it's been done already on Linux for ages though lol

Give it 3-5 years and Vista will be outdated and thrown out

It took microsoft nearly ten year's to get from IE6 to IE7 there wont be another windows platform for at least a decade unless they upgrade XP.
