DID YOU KNOW THAT IF YOU ARE GAY AND SUFFER FROM MENTAL ILLNESS YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS OR PROTECTION HERE IN AMERICA, ESPEICALLY HERE IN ALASKA.
PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO SEXUALLY ABUSE YOU AND GET BY WITH IT, PEOPLE CAN DO JUST ABOUT ANYTHING THEY WANT AND GET AWAY WITH IT BECAUSE WHEN YOU REPORT SUCH THINGS YOU ARE AUTOMATICLY DISCOUNTED BECAUSE OF THE COMBINATION OF THE TWO.
FOR A PERIOD OF ABOUT SIX MONTHS I WAS THE VICTIM OF SEXUAL ABUSE UNDER COLOR, MY PLEAS FOR HELP FELL ON DEAF EARS, AND TO THIS DAY I CANNOT FIND A LAWYER TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE, WHY, BECAUSE I AM GAY AND SUFFER FROM MENTAL ILLNESS SO THEREFORE MY WORDS ARE MEANINGLESS .

This sounds like a debate issue, but I'm gonna leave this thread up to Robbie...

I do have to say that this is something I've never heard before. Of course I'm not saying that you are lying..but proof would do just as good aswell.

I do feel somewhat sorry for you. But my question to you is:

Why let yourself be put through such bull? I'm sure that you can get some money to move out of the state.

This post is very controversial. I personally don't think anywhere in the states do they consider homosexuality a mental illness. Even Alaska.

And yes I agree this should be left to an admin!!!

So anyone can be raped and the person who done it would get away with it?

Wow that's seriously freakin' crap.. and kinda hard to believe too.

How about you try and talk to a counsellor? Or someone that you know you can talk to that you know will help you. As Charmed said too, I really feel sorry for you if all this had happened and not one word was believed. I thought no matter what someone does sexual abuse/rape/ murder, they'd get some kind of sentence or fine.

I agree, Renae. Even though Alaska is beside Canada, the state still has to abide by the laws of the USA. Since they have a Bill stating that they are part of the USA.

Really and truthfully I think its bull. BUT, a conselor would do you good.

First of all Robbie is not the head of this forum, he's Admin for Gay Chat. Big difference there.

Anyhow I've checked briefly and found nothing that says mentally ill gay people have no rights in Alaska, but will continue to see if I can find any other info. If anyone else can post some information it will be more than helpful. If this thread is moved the place for it would be maybe Advice, as there is already a thread running in Debate about Gays and mental illness.

I'm still sceptical about the claims made by the author of this thread though.
