Transgender children

I was reading in a magazine, Woman's Day a article about how a nine year old little girl is so confused about her body and believes she is a boy, her parents have allowed her to change her apperance and get horomone shots, I have certainely read and seen loads on transgender adults and I understand the desire to change.

But my question is do you think parents are been self-indulgent in allowing kids to change their s3xuality..... or are the parents been responsible in seeing that their child is fully happy??

That's the most ridiculous thing I've read. How in the hell can parents allow a nine year old to have hormone shots? Yeh I can understand the dressing differently, because at least later on when this kid gets into her teens, she may well change her mind, but to change her body at such a young age must be illegal.

I swear people get more and more stupid as they years roll by.

What the... What nutcase Doctor would give a child hormone shots!? They should at least wait until the child reaches puberty before making a life altering decision such as this one.

They should have at least let it go until she was older, and things might have changed by then, she may have got over the whole "thinking I am a boy" thing. And if not then they could have giving her that needle when she was older if she wanted it, that is. But doing it at 9 years of age is just ridiculous. That poor girl. Surely they could have waited a couple of more years.

What about in 5 or even 10 years down the track when she realizes her Body and her choice is wrong..
It is going to be to late, let alone the Mental problems..
WTF.. are her parents thinking of, they are so wrong for doing this.
I agree with Cat let her dress as a boy(differently), but not go the full extreme of hormones..
Is it really about the girl wanting to be a Boy, Or is that what the Parents wanted at Birth..
I think it should not be allowed for parents to make a decision of such, but leave it to the child until at least they really know what they are..

I cant understand why they choose a certain se.xuality my self.

I dont no mutch about transgender but if i was growing up and i had a willy and a p***y i would be over the bloody moon.

I would not have one of them removed or choose to be either a girl or a boy instead i would just let nature take it's corse as it is intened to be any way.

Well the girl can have my penis if she wants.

Poor child, to hold such strong beliefs at her age. Ideally i think the parents should have waited a few more years before giving the go-ahead for her to have hormone treatment.

Moreover, one should consider the long term effects it may have on the child, i.e, wanting a family of her own in the future etc
