Hey Everyone!<\/p>\n

Hope you all are having a great start to the new year.<\/p>\n

As you probably have heard, Flash is officially dead and is no longer being supported by Adobe. \u00a0 This happened on December 31, 2020. \u00a0 Starting January 12, 2021 the company has said it will block Flash content from being run in their software.<\/p>\n

All major browsers have taken steps to eliminate Flash support with future updates. \u00a0Safari had already done so several months ago. \u00a0Chrome and Firefox will soon follow. \u00a0Windows will be releasing a future update that will remove Flash entirely from the browser.<\/p>\n

A look back at Flash and #1 Chat Avenue<\/h3>\n

Some of the regulars will remember that Flash was the primary software used by this website for well over a decade. \u00a0 At the beginning, it was not well received but eventually users adapted and eventually all of our\u00a0chat rooms<\/a>\u00a0were flashed. \u00a0 Its fast speed and lag free use was appealing. \u00a0Web cams and image transfers at blazing speeds were a bonus. \u00a0However, all good things must come to an end. \u00a0Flash had major vulnerabilities and was easily exploited. \u00a0It had outlived its time.<\/p>\n

How does that affect the chat rooms?<\/h3>\n

As of this writing, only two chat rooms ares still using Flash: the\u00a0video chat<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0adult chat<\/a>. \u00a0The adult chat rooms which are for users 18 and over, will transition completely to several separate “modern version” rooms. \u00a0 The modern version has already been available for a couple years but we are adding more categories and topics. \u00a0 For the time being, users will be able to choose from 4 separate chat rooms including what is now known as classic chat (our Flash based chat). \u00a0 There will be many different categories and genres to encompass everybody. \u00a0 In the future, we will be adding web cam functionality to these modern rooms. \u00a0 The classic chat will only be active for a very short time. \u00a0We urge our users to start the transition over to the new modern version chat rooms as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

For the video chat we will be adding a new software. \u00a0We will have more details in the coming days (or weeks). \u00a0Please stay tuned.<\/p>\n

It was a good run and will be hard to say goodbye<\/h3>\n

Although we know that change is not easy to accept, we are confident that our community will. \u00a0We encourage you to use our new modern version chat rooms that has a wide range of features including image transfers, wall posts, friends lists, music players and many more features that Flash never had. \u00a0 \u00a0As always, we will be developing and offering the best available chat systems for our community. \u00a0Stay tuned for some exciting future releases.<\/p>\n
