Gold is the virtual currency used inside our chat rooms. You spend it on virtual gifts, username changes, photo album slots and games. This page explains what Gold is, what it buys, and how to get it.

What is chat room gold?
Chat room gold is a virtual currency that our chat rooms use in order to buy things inside the chat room. It is separate from VIP — you do not need to be a VIP to buy or use Gold, although VIP members earn it faster.
What is chat room gold used for?
Currently it is used primarily for virtual gifts. These virtual gifts can be bought for yourself or given to other chatters. They come in the form of little icons and images that are visible on your profile. You can also use chat room gold to change your username and to play the games we have, to test your luck at winning even more gold. Some chat rooms have a photo album feature; the photo album is stored within your profile, and you can purchase photo slots using gold, either for yourself or as a gift for someone else.
Which games can I play with gold?
There are ten, all opened from the Games icon on the chat input bar or from the left menu. Each one links to a full guide with how to play and what it pays:

Not every game is switched on in every chat room, and some have their own minimum rank, so the list you see may be shorter.

How do I buy chat room gold?
- Click the burger menu (three lined dash) at the top left of the chat room.
- Click Store, then open the Gold tab.
- Choose from the available gold packs.
Tip: you can also click your gold balance at the top of the chat room to go straight to the Gold tab.
What is the price of chat room gold?
It really depends on which chat room you are buying the gold in. Each chat room has its own pricing.
When will I receive my chat room gold?
Purchases are instantaneous — you will receive it right away. If you send gold to another user, they will receive it right away as well.
Gifts and sharing
How can I share virtual gifts and chat room gold?
Simply click on the user's profile and then click Action and select either Send Gift or Share Wallet.
Sharing your gold wallet with other users is a VIP feature. Sending gifts is available to everyone.
Can I buy photo slots for another user?
Yes. In rooms with the photo album feature you can use Gift photo slots to buy slots for someone else instead of for yourself. You need to be a VIP member to gift slots, and in most rooms the person receiving them needs to be VIP in order to use them.
How can I view another user's gift collection?
Click on their profile and click Gifts.
How can I see the gift leaderboard?
Select the burger menu on the top left (three lined dash) and then select Leaderboards to see the top gift recipients.
Refunds and payment problems
Do you have a refund policy?
We do not allow refunds. This includes if you are banned from the chat room for violating our terms of service.
I receive an error message when trying to make a payment. What can I do?
If you are having issues with making a payment for Gold and are sure there is nothing wrong with your bank card, please reach out to our customer support line. Email chatavecom [at] gmail [dot] com and specify "Gold Payment Issues" as your subject.
If you were charged but did not receive your gold, a blank white screen usually means the transaction was not processed. A pending charge will normally drop off your statement within a few days. More on payment problems →
