We are one of the largest and oldest free teen chat community websites. A place where teenagers can chat with hundreds of other teens from all over the world. What can you find here at Teen Chat?

A community where teenagers from all over the world take part in a group chat with other teenagers around the same age group. The community was formed in 1999, making it one of the oldest and first of its kind. As one of the original rooms of #1 Chat Avenue, this room size can range from 50-200 users depending on the time of day. For the past 25 years, the popularity of chat room usage by teenagers has grown. This is mostly due to the openness of meeting other people online. Also, the increase of internet usage as more users connect online has further increased this number. All boys and girls are welcome to join to discuss and chat about everyday topics in a safe and friendly setting. The room is fully moderated by a group of individuals with many years of collective moderating experience. We also have additional safety measures put in place to prevent older teens from communicating with younger teens. There are additional automated systems to prevent illegal content and adult content from being shared through our chat rooms. No additional downloads or registration required to join (you will not be able to chat unless you register) and is 100% free to use. We are also mobile and tablet compatible.

TEEN CHAT RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • By entering teen chat, you agree to be at least 13 years of age but not older than 19. Be default, restrictions are set in place to prevent older teens from contacting younger teens in private chat.
  • No phone numbers, emails, social network usernames, or instant messaging IDs are allowed to be displayed online in public chat. We request that you exercise extreme caution and do not give out your personal information to anyone.
  • Overage users will be removed and potentially reported to their ISP and/or law enforcement agencies.
  • Please respect other users at all times. Name calling, harassment, bullying, derogatory slurs or insulting will not be tolerated.
  • For teenagers who are gay or lesbian, we do have a gay teen chat room and a lesbian teen chat available which you can join.
  • Inappropriate nicknames, profile pictures (including nudity), or conversation will NOT be tolerated. You will be kicked or banned if you do so.
  • We take CSAM violations very seriously. To help combat this, we utilize AI software to automatically detect violations in our terms of service such as uploads of profile pictures and backgrounds. If you are found to circumvent such tools, you will be subject to a kick, ban and/or referral to law enforcement. If you see any violations, please report them to a moderator or use the internal reporting tools provided.
  • If you see any suspicious activities relating to the exploitation of chat users, report it to a mod or admin immediately through the online reporting tool available beside every message.
  • If no mod/admin is online, and it is urgent, please go to the chat forums to request one.
  • Do not flood the chat room or disrupt other users in any way. You will be banned if you do.
  • No sharing or distribution of content which you do not own. This includes content protected by copyright such as music, articles, images, videos, etc. Also, privately owned content such as pictures, private chat messages and personal information shall not be shared.
  • Do not give out any personal information to anyone, no matter how much you think you can trust them.
  • Although our software will function on all modern browsers, the recommended choice of browser is Google's Chrome.
  • We will cooperate with ALL law enforcement agencies in the investigation of users over the age of 19 in contact with minors and/or suspected of a crime. This includes active live monitoring of the chat rooms in cooperation with law enforcement agencies around the world. Our support with law enforcement agencies has resulted in the apprehension of hundreds of criminals over the years and we will continue to support them in any way possible.
  • Make sure to use all the safety and reporting features we have available. Block unwanted users, report violations for swift action, set private messages to your friends list only, and many more options.
