Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are having or had a good summer. As some of you may have heard a long time ago, Flash technology support is coming to an end. As of late 2020 (Dec 31, 2020), Google Chrome will no longer support Flash in their browser. Other browsers such as Safari have already stopped using Flash. Eventually all of them will follow this trend. What that means is that users will have to find ways around that to make it work. The average user will not be able to do it because it will probably involve some sort of modification to your browser settings or even additional downloads.
So what does this mean to the chat rooms?
Due to the limitations of this, the chat community will also go in the same direction. As you may have noticed we have slowly started to shut down some of our old Flash chat rooms in smaller rooms. For larger rooms such as the adult chat room, we have kept the Flash version as an option. The other flash chat rooms will be deprecated sometime in 2020 and will they will be sorely missed.
We have been using flash chat for nearly 15 years and it provided a lot of usefulness to our users. However, if the major browsers will not be supporting it, and it continues to be a liability from a exploiting and security standpoint, this decision was very easy. We do understand some of the disappointment this might present to our users, especially those long time users. Please understand that this is not only for safe and secure reasons but also the user experience with regards to features and functions should be greatly improved moving forward.
We are always working on finding you the best free chat software available. In the future, this will continue.
Please stay tuned for new updates to our modern chat and some new exciting free chat software in the future. I am sure all of the communities here will love it.
