Hello everyone!
We hope everyone is staying safe in these very uncertain times. 2020 has not been a great year but we still have a few months to make it better.
Today, we will be discussing an issue that seems to bring a lot of uncertainty amongst our users. We will go a little more in depth with this topic.
It says that I have been banned from the chat room. What is a ban?
A ban from the chat room simply means that you are blocked from accessing the chat room. This is the most severe of “punishment” that we can administer upon users.
What are the reasons for being banned?
You have violated a rule of our chat rooms. The number one reason that we have observed would be spamming other websites. We have a zero tolerance policy regarding web spam. Our website has worked very hard over the past 20+ years in establishing itself as one of the top chat websites that has ever existed. We worked hard for that. We do not appreciate people trying to steal this hard work by spamming for users to visit their websites or affiliate links. You will be banned if you do so. If you spam social media accounts it is possible you may only receive a warning, mute or kick. However, it is in our sole discretion whether or not it was an innocent mistake or one which is deliberately done to steal traffic.
Other reasons can include:
- the posting and use of nude images in rooms that do not allow it.
- constant flooding of the same messages even after being warned
- committing any criminal offence. This may also be referred to law enforcement.
How long is a ban for?
This is usually for an indefinite period of time.
Can a ban be removed?
We rarely unblock bans unless there is a mistake made by our staff. Appealing of bans can be done through the feedback form.
The best way to avoid a permanent ban is to follow all the rules we have outlined for each room. Each room is different so be sure to read the rules specific to the chat room you are using. If there are any doubts you can also reach a moderator in the chat.
